SSC CHSL 2026 Notification - Overview
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has officially released the Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination 2026 notification on 19 April 2026. A total of 3,712 vacancies are being filled for the posts of Lower Division Clerk (LDC) / Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA), Data Entry Operator (DEO) and Data Entry Operator Grade A across various Central Government Ministries / Departments. Eligible 12th pass candidates can apply online from 19 April 2026 to 18 May 2026 at ssc.gov.in.

SSC CHSL 2026 - Eligibility / Yogyata
Educational Qualification / Shaikshik Yogyata
- For LDC/JSA: Candidates must have passed 12th Class (Intermediate / Higher Secondary) or equivalent from a recognized Board.
- For DEO (C&AG): 12th Class pass in Science stream with Mathematics from a recognized Board is mandatory.
- For DEO / DEO Grade A: 12th Class pass in any stream from a recognized Board.
- Final year candidates can also apply but must produce proof of qualification before the cut-off date mentioned in the notification.

SSC CHSL 2026 - Selection Process / Chayan Prakriya
The selection process for SSC CHSL 2026 has the following three tiers:
- Tier-I - Computer Based Examination (CBT): Objective type, 200 marks (100 questions), 60 minutes. Sections: General Intelligence, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language. Negative marking of 0.50 marks per wrong answer.
- Tier-II - Descriptive + Skill / Typing Test (Objective + Typing): Session I (Mathematics, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, Computer Knowledge) + Session II (Data Entry Speed Test / Typing Test). Negative marking 1 mark for Session I objective sections and 0.50 for Session II module.
- Document Verification (DV): Final stage – original documents are verified and selected candidates are allotted departments based on merit and preference.
